Victoria Retires From Wrestling, Hardcore Holly Released
WWE Diva Victoria had her final wrestling match at yesterday's SmackDown! show. Despite losing to former Diva's Champion Michelle McCool, she left the arena with head held high following a passionate farewell speech to the audience (which didn't air on SmackDown!, but which can be seen online here

We love you Victoria, you will be missed!

Also, 14-year old WWE veteran Hardcore Holly was released recently as well. Holly was most recently used in an angle with/against Cody Rhodes, where he was attacked by his own World Tag Team Championship partner in a match. Holly was then never to be seen on WWE television again, most likely due to a backstage scuffle that took place shortly after the turn of Rhodes.

Holly, along with several other wrestlers, referees and developmental talent, was most likely released (or at least it could be one of the reasons) because of the terrible state of the fledgling US economy as a way to save the company money.
