Sensational Title Unification
For the first time in history, the IWGP and Triple Crown titles are now held by the same wrestler!

NJPW filled the good old Tokyo Sumo Hall with 11,000 people that were eagering to watch this unique title unification match. Satoshi Kojima from AJPW faced New Japan's own Hiroyoshi Tenzan in a match where both titles were on the line for the very first time. After 59:49 - just eleven seconds before the time limit expired - Satoshi Kojima was victorious after a knockout.

This is the biggest upset in a very long time. Few people thought that Kojima could defeat Kawada for the Triple Crown earlier this week and even fewer people believed that he would be the first ever "Four Crown King". Kojima is perhaps the "Chris Jericho" of Japan - very charismatic and talanted, but somehow a Jobber-to-the-stars.

Tenzan's back was hurt during the match. I'm not sure if this is a work or a legitimate injury though.

Earlier during the show, "Black" New Japan defeated the original New Japan in a 52 minute long Survivor Series style match. Some of the competitors were furious about Kojima's victory and Yuji Nagata even attempted to attack! Was this a heel turn by Nagata? The people were clearly chanting Kojima's name.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion Tiger Mask defended his title against Jushin Thunder Liger during the show. Tiger Mask won efter 16:07 with a Tiger suplex hold. This was his first title defense.
