WWE In Cooperation With A Big Japanese Promotion?
WWE executive Johnny Ace visits his old friend Misawa. Will we see WWE utilizing NOAH to gain momentum in the Japanese market?

Ace is the present WWE director of talent relations. During the 1990s, he also competed for All Japan Pro Wrestling when Misawa was doing the booking. Misawa is now the president of NOAH, currently the second biggest promotion in Japan. Johnny Ace visited the NOAH office in Tokyo last Thursday. WWE executives haven’t had meetings with executives from other wrestling companies in several years. Ace claimed that a cooperative relationship with NOAH was possible in the future. Ace continued and said that he admired NOAH’s training facilities. Finally, Ace stated that he thought of Misawa as an ally to develop the Japanese market.

Considering the VERY promising ticket sales for the upcoming RAW and SmackDown! shows in Tokyo, many people expect WWE to continue with its expansion in Asia. Of course, native allies would be very handy. The native promotions and the WWE aren’t competing for the same audience. Traditional Japanese wrestling attracts sports fans in general, while WWE is well-liked by the fans of American pop-culture in Japan. Instead, the two promotions could help each other by exchanging know-how and talent.
