WWE Takes Action Against Randy Orton For Unprofessional Conduct

WWE.Com are acknowledging what several sites have already reported, and are taking action against the "unprofessional conduct" of Randy Orton. According to PWInsider.Com, Orton reportedly thrashed a hotel room on the recent European tour, causing over $50,000 worth of damage. This, however, was not acknowledged in the WWE.Com article on the matter.

According to earlier reports, WWE have been mispleased with Orton's behaviours as of late, and this was most likely the straw that broke the proverbial camels back. While it is not known what the punishment will be for Orton, be it suspension, a fine or some other type of disciplinary move, it is still a step in the right direction to deal with this sort of thing rather than to just sweep it under the rug. Personally, I think it would have been shameful if WWE would have just plainly denied it and allowed this sort of behaviour to continue.

Also, it is not known whether or not this will affect Orton's position in the Fatal Four Way match this Sunday at Backlash. At the time of writing, the graphic for the match over at the official Backlash site still features Randy as part of the match.

If Orton can't behave he will never wear the championship gold around his waist again, anyone agree? wink

by Tren @ 25 Apr 2007 07:36 am
Agreed. I guess becoming the youngest world champion and the push he recieved after that really got to his head. That's the flaw of pushing guys to early: arrogance and bad attitude.

My bet on Orton winning the title this Sunday is pretty invalid now, I guess... sooooo Edge?

Actually, I lost pretty much all respect I ever had for Orton a few years back when he "ribbed" a Diva (if I'm not mistaken it was one of the "Diva Search losers" who still got hired by the company) by legitimately taking a crap in her travelling bag with all her stuff in it. To me, that's not ribbing someone, that's being immature and childish. Everything bad that has happened to Orton since could be chalked up to bad karma if you ask me, and I couldn't be happier that WWE are starting to investigate his bad attitude. Unprofessional conduct doesn't belong in professional wrestling, if you ask me, and a big ego will just make matters worse.

So no, I doubt we'll see Orton with the gold come this Sunday. wink

I actually hope that they put the belt on HBK this time. I think he deserves one (most likely) final run with a major belt, it's been five long years since he won the World Heavyweight title at Survivor Series (in the Elimination Chamber), so it would be a nice thing to do. Kind of like what they did to 'Taker at WrestleMania 23, having him win big time gold one last time. After the great match between Cena and Michaels at 'Mania, and the even better (or so I've heard, I haven't seen it yet) match they had at RAW, I would love it if WWE would give him the nudge on Sunday. Then he can feud with Edge up until SummerSlam for the belt, and Cena can move away from the title for a while. Cena should focus on another feud for a while, let a couple of others run with the belt a while, and then get back in the title hunt after SummerSlam or something. That's how I would run things if I were in charge. laughing

I'm with Taco. :P

Hey i smell something funny here. How long will they keep this boring feud with Edge,Cena,Ortona and hbk? I man wwe must push someone to the top and that pretty soon since these matches are going to go on forever and ever.

by Macguyver @ 27 Apr 2007 05:08 pm
Well they have MR KENNEDY! :D

by Trennedy! @ 27 Apr 2007 09:48 pm

And why Mr. Kennedy, one of the best wrestlers WWE has today, is without a match for this Sunday is just mindboggling. Suuuure, we get a crappy Women's Championship match but no Misteeeeeeeeeeeeeer KENNEDYYYYYYY! That's just laaaaaaaame.. LAME!

And they said combining all three brands into all pay per views would be good.. well the crappy card that Backlash has is no good start. I hope Kennedy cashes in his Money In The Bank and challenges whoever keeps the belt in the Last Man Standing match, and wins it! That would save the pay per view, if you ask me. That, or some surprise match á la the 4-way ladder match at Armageddon last year.
