NOAH Destiny - More Matches Added
NOAH Destiny is going to be the biggest wrestling show of the summer! Right now, four matches are confirmed and there are also rumours about the rest of the card.

According to The Wrestling Observer, NOAH has managed to sell 40,000 tickets already! Since the show is on July 18th, there's a big chance that there will be a legitimate sell-out. This would be the first time in 4,5 years that the 60,000+ seat Tokyo Dome is filled.

Fiestafestwrestling.com previously reported about two matches:

Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Toshiaki Kawada - The bitter enemies from the 1990s. They had the most memorable matches in AJPW's history, according to most fans. They haven't faced each other in 6 years (because Misawa left the federation and formed NOAH). They are both around 40 years old now, but both wrestlers can bring up a great fight when it's needed.

Kenta Kobashi vs. Kensuke Sasaki - The Battle of the MVPs! Kobashi dominated NOAH for exactly two years as a champion and is still considered to be the true ace of the promotion. Kensuke Sasaki is arguably the most successful wrestler outside of the promotion. He was in the main event in all of the three Dome shows that actually sold out in the 21th centuary. He recently won the Champions Carnival and was awarded "MVP of 2004" in some magazines. Both have a very physical style, so expect some very stiff strikes and head-dropping suplexes!

We recently also got these two matches confirmed:

Takeshi Rikio vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi for the GHC Heavyweight Title. Rikio is the newly crowned champion, making his second title defense here against the outsider from NJPW. Rikio out-weights Tanahashi by nearly 50 pounds, but Tanahashi is probably the most well-built wrestler in Japan right now. Being just 28 years old, he is still to win a world title. And he's gaining popularity faster than Rikio. Will the GHC Heavyweight title be the first one? This will either strengthen Rikio's popularity or give Tanahashi a huge "star rub".

Yoshinari Ogawa vs. Genichiro Tenryu - Master vs. Student. Few men have accomplished as much as the 55-year old Tenryu. He is the only japanese man who have pinned both Baba and Inoki. He competed at Wrestlemania and even tried to run his own promotion for a while. He also was the mentor of Ogawa (who was a champion both in singles and tag team). Does good old Tenryu still have what it takes to defeat his former student?

There are also rumours about a match for the tag team titles. Scorpio & Doug Williams haven't defended the titles since they captured them. Many critics believe that they will lose the titles before the show. This might set up for a match between Jun Akiyama & Takeshi Morishima vs. Naomichi Marufuji & Minoru Suzuki for the gold.

What about the quick Junior Heavyweights? Since Yoshinobu Kanemaru posseses both the single's title and the tag team title, it is still not decided. Will KENTA be the next challanger maybe?
