Akebono Injured, WrestleMania 21 Match In Jeopardy? - Updated!
According to PWInsider.Com, the sumo legend Akebono suffered a shin injury while participating in the K-1 Grand Prix in Seoul. This makes you wonder whether or not his planned WrestleMania 21 match against the Big Show is in jeopardy or not.

If the injury is serious, it could very well throw the proverbial monkey wrench into WWE's plans, but it could also turn out that the injuries sustained are not that threatening.

More on this as we get it.

News courtesy of PWInsider.Com:

"As previously reported, Akebono won his first round match-up at the K-1 Grand Prix in Seoul. However, he had to pull out of his second round fight against the South Korean former sirrum champ Choi Hong-Man due to a shin injury. It is uncertain if this will affect Akebono's upcoming Smackdown and WrestleMania appearances. You can read an article on the K-1 website at http://www.k-1usa.net/docs/news/news.asp?news_id=50319"

Update!

According to PWInsider.Com, the aforementioned K-1 related injury could have all been a setup to prevent Akebono from injuring himself before WrestleMania. In other words, it might have been a faked injury to prevent a real injury from occuring.

News courtesy of PWInsider.Com:

"To protect him from any real damage before WrestleMania 21, the injury Akebono suffered at the K-1 event in Seoul, Korea was said to be a work. Akebono will of course face Big Show at WrestleMania."
